The original interview is here:

I can't speak Spanish so used Yahoo!Babel Fish to translate it. Any Spanish forumers want to make proper sense of it?!

Main points:
- Josh Homme mightn't be producing the new album (he will be recording with Them Crooked Vultures in April; Alex wants to start recording then too),
- Alex is currently listening to bands like Moby Grape and Quicksilver Messanger Service
- Mick Jagger previously told the interviewer that AM reminded him of the Rolling Stones starting out.
- Alex is flattered - while the Rolling Stones are no longer 'cool', he has listend to Exile on Main Street thousands of times.

Quote

It is possible that Mick Jagger was decisive to change all my mental strategy on Arctic Monkeys, because the first album and all their mediatic apparatus nor I liked and it seemed to me moderate. Mainly, when they began to say that they could be greater than own Rolling Stones. Then it arrived an interview with the very same Jagger and left the subject Arctic Monkeys. Before the stupor of its interlocutor, Jagger began to say that the singer of that one group seemed to him that she had dawn, that it remembered to him much when they began Rolling Stones.

So there was to know Alex Turner and this was possible during ' interregno' of Last Shadow Puppets. He was a likeable, modest boy, with a special angel and a natural intelligence far beyond what habitually we are customary.

Then, the third album from the Monkeys, magnificent ' arrived; Humbug'. And I said that the group had grown a barbarism. Only by the gesture to record in America, to study the rock of the Californian coast and to record with a wonderful guitarist as it is Joss Homme, began the suspicions that everything was turns of the wonderful furnished head of Alex.

Except for congratulating me by the type of suit, " very english" , it said, it began to ask to me for the place where they were going to act tonight, in the Place of Vistalegre.

- Then, Alex, is like the Roundhouse of London. Good, it is in fact one bullring.

-A bullring? Peculiar what. But the sound could be well, no?

- Good, already you know that the circular places are most difficult to voice, but I do not believe that there are problems.

- It is important Madrid for us. We are at the end of the tour, that finishes in Valencia and we want to finish it well, in a high tone.

-You are tired?

- No, the truth. We were our of rest yesterday. It was here, in Madrid. We leave to some bars, but everything was very calm. I tried to find vinyl stores, but I did not find them.

- Then, right here, to streets of here, there are absolute jewels. They interest vinyl discs to you?

- Enough. Mainly the American groups of guitars of years 60. Like the Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messanger…

-You are going to record again in America, with Josh?

- We still do not know it. I hope to begin to perhaps record there by the month of April or later. Another album of the Monkeys, naturally. By those dates, Joss has said to us that it will be recording another album with Them Crooked Vultures.

- You took a magnificent passage with ' Humbug'.

- Then, fíjate, there are lost many followers, because they do not like the style of the last album. But I suppose that we have won new addict - is ***reflxed mng, like you.

- He is something that would not have of contártelo, but once Mick Jagger said to me that you remembered to him much when it began in Rolling Stones.

- Good, you to it said.

- No, he did not say that you remembered him to him. Jagger has the theory that there is people with dawn, like that hoop that the saints take in the religious pictures. And Jagger said that you wear one hair net behind your head, your dawn.

- (Alex remains thinking, with the open smile) Then, me you have left died…. I do not know what to say. Really that said it to you? It is not well saying it, because now ' is not something very; cool' , but ' Main exiles on street' me I will have heard it thousand times. It is thus.

-What so you take with the ones of the group?

- No, it does not pass anything. I already know what it is said, but we are friendly. Mainly. In addition, every time to us we passed it better raised in a scene. And that unites much.

- And, of girls, what?

- Of girls, nothing. And low the head.

In January it turned 24 years, but the truth is that it seems that has less. " At the most it will have 20" , a girl says to me who happens through our side and wants to request an autograph to him.

"We've lost many fans"

It is possible that Mick Jagger was decisive to change all my mental strategy about Arctic Monkeys, because I didn't like the first record and all the stuff about it, especially when they started to say that they could be greater than the very Rolling Stones. Then there was an interview with Jagger and the Arctic Monkeys popped out. Before the amazement of the interviewer, Jagger said that the singer of that band seemed to have a certain dawn (soul), that he (Alex) reminded him of himself when the Stones were only starting out.

So we had to meet Alex Turner and this was possible during the period of the Last Shadow Puppets. He was a nice, modest boy with an especial angel and with a natural intelligence very superior to what we are used to.

Then the third Arctic Monkeys record arrived, the magnificent "Humbug". And I said to him that the band had grown way too much. Only with the gesture of recording in America, of studying rock in California and recording with a wonderful guitar player like Josh Homme, it was all very clear that all this was a product of the spins in the wonderful head of Alex.

He greeted me with a compliment of my suit, "very English" he said, and we started talking about the place they were going to play tonight, in the Plaza de Vistalegre.

- So, Alex, this is like the Roundhouse of London. It's actually a bullring.

Alex: It is a bullring? That's funny. Judging by the sound it may actually work, wouldn't it?

- Well, you know that circular places are more difficult to work in when it comes to the sound, but I don't think it's going to be a problem.

Alex: Madrid is very important to us. We're at the end of the tour, it ends in Valencia and we want to end it well, in a high tone.

- Are you tired?

Alex: Not really. Yesterday we had a break. It was here, in Madrid. We went to a couple of pubs but it was all very quite. I tried to find a vinyl store but I couldn't find any.

- In this very street you can find some wonderful jewels. Do you like vinyl's records?

Alex: A lot. Especially those by American bands of the 60's like Moby Grape and Quicksilver Messanger...

- Are you going to record again with Josh?

Alex: we don't know yet. We want to start recording by April or maybe later. Another Monkey record, obviously. Josh told us that he's going to be recording again with Them Crooked Vultures around that time of the year.

- You've taken a huge step with Humbug.

Alex: Well, we've lost a lot of fans, because they don't like the style of the album but I guess we've gain new ones, - he laughs - , like you.

- This is something I shouldn't be telling you but once Mick Jagger said that you reminded him of himself a lot when the Stones were starting out.

Alex: Well, you told him that.

- No, no, he said you reminded him of himself. Jagger has a theory that there's people with soul, with that halo that saints carry. And Jagger said that you had one of those invisible halos above your head, your dawn.

Alex: (Thinking with an open smile) Well, you've left me... dead, I don't know what to say. He really said that? You shouldn't have said it because now it's not something very "cool" but I've heard "Exile on main street" thousands of times.

- Do you get along with the rest of the band?

Alex: It's all good. I know what they say but we're still friends. Above all. And besides, every time we get in the scenario it gets better and that brings us all together even more.

- And what about girls?

Alex: Nothing about girls.

He lowers his head. He got 24 back in January but the truth is that he seems to be much younger. "He can't be older than 20" says a girl that walks by our side and wants an autograph.

"I know what they say but we're still friends." What do "they" say about the relationships within the band?
Alex Turner: A clever little fairy since 1986

I'm guessing he means the tabloids - the stories about the band resenting his relationship with Alexa and their move to NYC
