Thought this deserved its own thread!

Alex said on Portuguese radio (RTP) yesterday that "a friend had invited him to do the soundtrack of a film."

I'm guessing that it's for Submarine, directed by Richard Ayoade, because Empire said recently that "Submarine has a superb British cast [Craig Roberts, Yasmin Paige, Sally Hawkins, Noah Taylor and Paddy Considine], a real talent on the megaphone and — from what we've heard — is also shaping up to have a most exciting soundtrack."

I'm pretty sure I'm right though What other film director is Alex friends with? One who is currently making a film? A movie with an 'exciting' soundtrack (the only reason a soundtrack would be singled out in advance as 'exciting' is if there were to be original compositions by a well-known musician)?

ive been excited about this film for a long time now, this has knocked it up a whole new level!
i've always thought that Black Plant by TLSP would be a good Bond song.

IO'll bw honest, when I read EMPIRE this month and read the bit about Richard and it being a very "British " film I immediately thought of AM when it talked about the soundtrack

Hope it does turn out to be Alex writing it, would be amazing

Taking another leaf out of Nick Cave's book there. Speaking of which, wonder if Alex'll ever do a novel? I'm looking forward to this anyway and might give the book a read before the film comes out, supposedly it's like a modern Catcher in the Rye, which I just started a few days ago as well. I hope it's him doing the full soundtrack as opposed to just contributing a song to one, but either way I'd be happy with new Turner material, just think a full soundtrack would be really interesting to see what he does.
